Another Person Murdered Responding To Craigslist Ad

#TexasNewsBlog #TexasNews #Houston

Millions of people use Craigslist everyday in Texas. For the most part - these transactions are good for both the buyer and seller. However – there are a growing number of people who are either getting ripped off when they meet at strange locations to do business or even worse they are ending up dead. While you would think everyone would use caution and good common sense when meeting a total stranger from Craigslist – that is not always the case – so there are folks who are getting robbed and murdered on a regular basis – just because of poor judgment. Just the other day - a person who met a stranger after responding to an ad on Craigslist near Houston to buy a Play Station ended up in the morgue instead. This person met the guy advertising the Play-Station in an apartment complex parking lot at night and within a short period of time he was shot and killed. It goes without saying that no one should travel to a strange dark parking lot at night to buy anything they saw advertised on Craigslist. What some people seem to forget is that the Internet is still more similar to the old 'Wild West' than it is to a shopping mall or movie theater. Always remember there are criminal elements in all walks of life and that is especially true when it comes to buying and selling stuff on Craigslist.
