Edward Alvarado Arrested After Standoff In Waco

42-year-old Edward Alvarado was arrested on Thursday afternoon after he entered a home and refused to come out when Federal Marshall's order him to. Then began a standoff that involved members of law enforcement from the Waco Police Department, McLennan County Sheriffs Office and U.S. Federal Marshall's. The Marshall's service was trying to serve arrest warrants on Alvarado for four counts of felon in possession of a firearm, two counts of a felon in possession of body armor, and one count of possession of a controlled substance. The standoff with Alvarado began around 3:15 PM and ended at 8:00 PM when he surrendered. The address of the home has not been revealed at this time, but it is located in what most local residents refer to as 'South Waco'. Before his surrender, tear gas was shot into the home to encourage Alvarado to come out and give himself up. There were other arrests at the scene, but the names of those arrested or the charges filed against them have yet to be released. Click the image above for more information.
