On Friday, nearly 100 volunteers at the Central Christian Church in Waco spent part of their Good Friday packing more than 22,000 meals for children in Haiti.
"Families can spend their day off or this holy day doing anything they want, and the fact that they have chosen to come and spend some of their day giving to other people really is the message of Jesus Christ. To be here, to love others, and to serve others," Central Christian Church Minister of Families Kristin Jack said.
The meals will go to the organization Kids Against Hunger, a non-profit organization that gives nutritious food to starving children in the U.S. and abroad.
This year, the food will benefit children in an orphanage in Haiti.
